Opportunity Class Placement (Next: About OCPA)

Opportunity Class placement is a government education program to recognize children with 'superior ability' and entitle them with special consideration such that it enables gifted children to progress at a rate corresponding to their natural ability.

The program started in 1931, and these days, there are 74 opportunity classes in NSW, with 1755 places

Mainly the opportunity class is for year 5, but there are also opportunity classes for year 6 and composite classes.

The test structure consists of 2 parts, each part is 30 minutes each for English, mathematics and general ability, all with multiple choices. 35 items are mixed in part 1 and 2. There are 20 questions for English and Maths, 30 questions for General ability.
